Nature Photographers Network & Nature Vision Magazine
We welcome thoughtful article ideas from nature photographers, writers, and artists interested in contributing to Nature Photographers Network (NPN) or Nature Vision Magazine (NVM).
Submissions are considered for either platform, and final placement is determined by the editorial team based on fit, depth, and intent.
We ask that contributors submit a clear, well-considered article idea, not a completed article.
This allows us to:
Ensure the concept is a strong fit
Decide whether it’s best suited for the NPN Articles (blog) or Nature Vision Magazine
Provide guidance before significant writing begins
Your idea should clearly communicate:
The core theme or question
Why it matters
The general direction of the writing
The type of images you anticipate accompanying the piece
Well-developed ideas have a much higher chance of moving forward.
Ongoing editorial pieces published on the NPN site. These may be:
Creative
Technical
Environmental
Or reflective essays that don’t align with a specific magazine theme
A highly curated, theme-driven publication. Articles selected for NVM tend to be:
More reflective or essay-like
Closely aligned with the issue’s theme
Edited with careful attention to pacing, layout, and visual rhythm
If an idea is a strong fit for one platform over the other, we’ll let you know during the review process.

Offer original, thoughtful perspectives
Go beyond surface-level advice or trends
Are grounded in personal experience, observation, or insight
Are supported by strong photographic work
Are written clearly and intentionally

If your idea is accepted:
We may request revisions to the concept or outline
Editors reserve the right to edit submissions for clarity, structure, length, and layout
Minor adjustments to images (such as resizing) may be made to suit publication needs
Final publication decisions rest with the editorial team
All accepted contributors are paid.
Compensation varies depending on:
Whether the article is published on NPN or in Nature Vision Magazine
Scope and length of the piece
Payment details are discussed privately after acceptance.
By submitting and publishing an article with us, you agree to the following:
You grant first world electronic publication rights for six (6) months
You grant non-exclusive world electronic rights to archive the article indefinitely
You confirm that all submitted text and images are original and owned by you
You grant permission for us to use excerpts of the article for promotional purposes (with credit)
Authors may request removal of an archived article after a period of years if it no longer aligns with their vision or voice. Such requests will be considered in good faith.
We do not republish articles in future magazine issues.
