Rachael Talibart
I am a professional photographer specialising in the coast. I grew up on Britain’s south coast and a lot of my childhood was spent as sea. This left me with a fascination for the ocean and the coast it carves. My first career took me inland, to the City London, where I worked as a solicitor (attorney), but I always longed to be back by the sea. Now, I make almost all of my photos at the coast. For me, nothing beats a day on a lonely shore. I seek encounters with the ocean because I know that despite, or perhaps because of, its dangerous power, it is fundamentally life affirming. These are worrying times. For me, the sea is the antidote. I only have to walk to the water’s edge, and everything feels better. As I look out to the horizon, the possibilities are endless.
